Filling (Warp Weft)

A filling is also known as Weft. The lengthwise, selvedge to selvedge horizontal, yarns carried over and under the warp.

Banana Fibre

Banana fibres obtained from the stem of banana plant (Musa sapientum) characterised for their diameter variability and their mechanical properties.

Morphology (fibre)

Morphology is a term used to describe the study of the physical form and structure (see below) of a material and include a broad spectre of characteristics. Fibre morphology contains macro-structure, micro-structure, the sub-microscopic and fine structure of fibres, which are only observable through a light microscope.

Microstructure fibre

The microstructure of fibres is a term used to describe the examination of fibre features such as surface contour and cross-sectional shape that are only visible through a light microscope. Surface contour defines the surface along its length of the fibre, and the property is significant regarding issues such as fibre friction, especially when it comes to comfort when worn next to the skin.
