Lustre is a term used to describe fabric or fibre the ability to reflect light. The quality and nature of the reflection may be a useful diagnostic aid.
Aesthetics is a term used to describe textiles properties perceived by touch and sight, for example, colour, lustre, drape, texture or hand of fabrics.
Acetate (Triacetate). The oldest man-made fibre and the first one made using tree pulp.
Cross-section. Cotton yarns and fabrics can be given a lustrous sheen by altering the cross-sectional shape of the cotton fibres.
