Strong sustainability

Strong sustainability

Strong sustainability is a term used to describe a conception of substitutability between the natural environment and manufactured capital. Strong sustainability aims at keeping stocks of natural capital maintained and enhanced owing to the impossibility of being replaced by manufactured capital and to avoid the emission of man-made “unnatural” chemical compounds to the environment.  See also weak sustainability in the eco fashion dictionary a-z.
