Sequestration

Sequestration

Sequestration is a term used to describe carbon removal from the atmosphere, and storage in reservoirs (marine or terrestrial). It is done biologically natural, reforestation, afforestation and practices that expand soil carbon in agriculture. Large-scale temporal artificial capture of industrially-produced carbon dioxide using underground and sub-surface saline aquifers, ocean water, reservoirs and ageing oil fields are innovations mentioned and represent the storage element of carbon capture.
