Moisture regain

Moisture regained is a  measurement term used to describe the weight of moisture in a material expressed as a percentage of the oven-dry weight; moisture regains is an important element in whether or not a fibre, yarn or fabric is likely to static electricity, which causes a fabric to cling; high regain and fabrics are less prone to static.

Moisture regain for a few fibre:

  • Silk SE 0.4
  • Polyester PL 1.3
  • Wool WO 4.5
  • Acrylic PAN 8
  • Polyamide PA 11
  • Cotton CO 18
