Human–environment framework (HES)
Human-environment framework is a research framework for environmental, sustainability based on an interdisciplinary theoretical and methodological approach for investigating structures, regulatory mechanisms, and decision processes on hierarchical levels, including individuals (such as consumer behavior), organizations (such as companies), institutions (such as state agencies), and society (such as socioeconomic impacts of climate change). The HES framework is developed at ETH Zurich, a university in Switzerland. The scientific framework is made for dealing with complex real-world problems or guiding transdisciplinary case studies.
