Fuzziness is a term describing a woven fabric defect characterised by a hairy appearance due to broken fibres or filaments. Principle causes are under slashed warp; rough drop wires, heddles, or reed; fabric slippage on take‐up drum; rough shuttles; cut glass, dents, or reeds in warped; and damage in slashing. A fabric intentionally made with a hairy surface such as pre-washed dark indigo jeans, the textiles usually produced from spun yarns.
