Environmental biotechnology

Environmental biotechnology is a term to describe the scientific engineering of biological systems for environment-friendly processes, such as green manufacturing and clean-up pollution. This technology uses only natural sources as fungi, plants, bacteria, particularly efficient engineered microbes and enzymes in chemical synthesis processes.


Environmental applications used in various industries such as biobleaching, biofiltration, bio-pulping and petroleum to remove sulfur from oil and gas (biodesulfurization). See biotechnology and industrial biotechnology
