Clean air act

The Clean-Air Act governs the protection of the US air resources and impacts textile dyeing operations in two main ways. First, the release of heavy metals, organics, and particulates can be regulated. This ‘Air Toxics’ comprise a list of 189 Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs). Besides, General Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are regulated. The legislation, referred to as the Textile MACT specifies Maximum Achievable Control Technologies (MACT) under the umbrella of Fabric Printing, Coating, and Dyeing of Fabrics.
