Casual wear

Casual wear is the common name for a group of textiles with greater comfort, less formal and above all ease-of-care properties also known as leisure wear. The concept of casual wear started in the mid-seventies to cover the needs for less formal and more flamboyant garments combining a youthful style with greater comfort. Casual wear highlights details such as stitching of collars, pockets, belts, uses more fashionable or lighter colours and implements new easy-care properties. One example is Dockers (Levi Strauss brand) that throughout clever marketing managed to start a trend called casual Friday among businessmen in the USA that started wearing light chinos pants and piquet polo tees instead of the traditional business suit. Some other brands in the casual wear category: Gant, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, Dockers, Stone Island, C.P. Company, Barbour, Hackett, Henri Lloyd, Lacoste, Paul & Shark, Timberland…
