Biocrime is a term used to describe a new form of crime by the threat or use of biological agents by individuals or groups to commit a crime, such as a robbery or murder, or to further their criminal intent. The level of biological agents or the threat of use has degenerated to the level of ordinary crime. It is not the same as bioterrorism.
One regular example is to robbing banks by threatening to spray anthrax, another less regular is the revenge on coworkers by contaminated doughnuts. At this level bears many similarities to bioterrorism or bioassassination without the strong state sponsorship. Nevertheless, in the case of biocrime, the agents (less harmful chemicals) used are seldom capable of battlefield or bioterrorism actions
