Banana fibre

The banana fibre obtained from the stem of the banana plant (Musa sapientum)  characterised for their diameter variability and their mechanical properties, with stress on fracture morphology. Banana fibre for textile productions is an eco-friendly alternative for the production of dyed, printed and finished textiles for home furnishing and apparel. Natural fibres present important advantages such as low density, appropriate stiffness and mechanical properties, and high dispensability and renewability. Moreover, they are recyclable and biodegradable.
