Abrasion resistance is a term used to determine the degree to which loss of appearance through surface wear, rubbing, chafing, and other frictional actions are withstood. The abrasion resistance degree is determined by a test method. Such test, for example, determinates the ability of a fibre or fabric to sustain wearing of its surface. Furthermore, the capability of a material to withstand mechanical actions such as sanding, erosion, scraping, grinding that progressively remove material from its surface.
