Sustainable fashion design by Buddha Jeans

This blog was born only a month ago so bear in mind that nobody is perfect. Christine, who has a vast amount of experience as a fashion designer, creative manager, & I with a background in design and trend research, had a few fights while getting the blog online. Do not forget that above all an else we are making jeans and it’s not more complicated than that. We want to use this blog as a tool together with our subscribers as a place to share ideas in a creative but serious way. This is about fashion & denim in particular. Sustainable product design is a significant megatrend and one that needs to go on forever so I think we should be very careful and very honest in the way we approach it. The first thing to do is only to have an open mindset, create a bit of positiveness and pass it on. If we do so we will create a gigantic positive vibe that in the future will generate a high level of positive karma. So people who come after us be able to solve the problems we created in a positive way

I always try to be positive &  think I have tremendous energy to share. I try hard not to be affected by negative energy from others. I think that life is too short and that I do not have time to be grumpy; it’s only me that suffers from it and people around me. I believe the universe is inter-connected, always in the state of change and not everlasting. All people need to develop positive karma; this will help us in the future. We all need to take care of this planet since we are only borrowing it for a short time. So let us pass it on in a better condition than when we borrowed it. Remember next time we come around we might be able to borrow it again. buddha jeans have buddha nature. buddha nature means to return the planet to the state it was before we polluted it. To do something about this and find our way back to mother nature is buddha nature. buddha jeans are only a small brand intention of creating, through sustainable product design, beautiful jeans with longer lasting quality, increasing the life cycle and using environmentally friendly fabrics. About Christine

Christine’s latest work is the film BLUE GOLD American Jeans documentary film sponsored by The GAP, BLUE GOLD is set to air at Sundance Film Festival in 2011. Christine is the original founder of BLUE GOLD the movie and is the Executive Producer. She has worked in the US for the last years in  NY and LA lately as the designer and a co-owner of 2010 BESS Apparel LLC, New York/ Los Angeles with hand-selected premium retail shops in NY & LA. Christine meets Kenneth in Levis Strauss Europe, Middle East & Africa where they joined forces in the Levi Strauss creative development team. Christine is a partner in buddha jeans with Kenneth and shares the same philosophy about sustainable product design. “Fashion should be more than just a short fad without content.” Christine also works on the movie Blue Gold so her blog writing will be at a limited level for the time being.


The Future Is Now

Kenneth is currently working on his book on mega trends in the next five years with the title The Future Is Now as a part of this project. He made the concept buddha jeans partly based on the mega-trend research. He has also lived and worked around the globe from Europe to Melbourne and Rio. Now he is spending time in tiny Oslo. But soon he will be elsewhere as people have a hard time communicating even on the “subway.” Kenneth & Christine were in the leadership group of people who managed to turn Levi’s around from the negative spiral and into a positive vibe between 1998 – 2001 when products such as Levi’s RED, Levi’s Engineered and Levi’s Industrial clothing was created. Kenneth held the place as the Trend Specialist at Levi Strauss Europe, Middle East & Africa. He sat up the entire Trend Scout project. From scratch. And he set up the research system of trend monitoring in Europe. Seven key cities: Barcelona, Milan, Paris, Stockholm, Amsterdam, London & Berlin. Own Department of trend scouts in the cities above, the system of monitoring input & information system, creative & marketing departments, advertising agencies Bartle, Bogle & Hegarty, research agencies Millard Brown, RISK, Shillands PR. Won several research & marketing awards for work on archived prices, massive PR & recognition.
