Sustainability Gap

Sustainability Gap

Sustainability Gap is a measure of the decrease in consumption (or the increase in material and economic efficiency) required to eliminate the ecological deficit. (Can be applied on a regional or global scale.). Despite increasing efforts to reach sustainability, key global biophysical indicators such as biodiversity loss and climate change continue to deteriorate rather than improve (Earths biophysical limits and its life support systems regardless social and economic goals globally as strategies).
