Anorexia and bulimia, when the mouth has become a dangerous tool of control

Vogue To Fight Eating Disorders

Vogue Italia’s Editor-in-Chief Franca Sozzani, during her Harvard speech, underlined how we all have responsibility to fight eating disorders. All of us, and especially young people need to become a point of reference for those that don’t have the strength to face these terrible eating disorders. An appeal that Vogue has decided to turn into reality starting precisely from our readersAfter the petition against pro-ana and pro-mia websites, today we turn to all of you with a new request. This image is manipulated to make the model look more skinny. Jennifer-Aniston. But especially celebrities must or should take in consideration how big impact they have on young girls, especially teenagers who can be very sensitive and not comfortable with their bodies yet.

The ghosts of magic hunger

We all have personal responsibility as Gandhi so well point out in this great quote. We support strongly this action against brands, campaigns, designers, magazines, fashion shows, stylist, blogs, web pages that shows or support the culture where models are showing a wrong image of the reality. No more beautiful models needs to die because of anorexia or bulimia. All you bloggers who visit this blog please show your support by using my discussion board. If you like the post, feel free to copy, post it on your blog, web site or elsewhere as long as this blog name and author credited. Remember to starve this way is very different from the type of starving young models do. One of the most well-known cases of voluntary starvation, is the hunger strike of Mahatma Gandhi. During his protest, Gandhi ate absolutely no food and only took sips of water for 21 days, and survived. What extraordinary about this case that Gandhi was very lean when he started his hunger-strike, thus not having much energy reserve from the outset. Also, it must be noted that during his life, Gandhi reported to have performed a total of 14 hunger strikes. The religious or physiological hunger strike is something that almost only belongs to the man through the history of time. Hunger used as a weapon to threaten governments, in political actions. Gandhib against the Brits in the liberation of India, the prisoners of IRA used hunger strike in Northern Ireland to free and change political decisions.

The mouth have become a tool of control

Today the mouth has become a tool of control, a tool so dangerous that to master the instrument easy becomes a deadly addiction. This addiction goes from control of the body, to become a view  upon the body as always fat or overweight. The mirror they look into, are as taken from a Circus. A  mirror who always shows you  fat. Many girls misinterpret or are not capable to see once healthy living become unhealthy living. The thin line between a healthy body you feel comfortable and love, becomes a body you dis spice.  Who is in danger of becoming your worst enemy. These images in magazines, fashion shows or sports event twist the reality. It’s not only images of models in glossy magazines around the world, but a world of athletes who gives us the wrong view. A body that’s supposed to be healthy are in fact an unhealthy. The fine line between a healthy body and a dangerous are thin To cure the body is difficult the mind is even harder Skinny model backstage at a fashion show. Where is the border between healthy skinny body or a sick skinny body? It is not only to cure the body but the mind as well, and the mind is always more difficult. The anorexic will always view the body as fat, unable to admit its to skinny.  As a drug addict that cannot admit that she is sick and need help.

Buddha tried to become happy and enlighten by starvation

Happiness lies in a balanced body, not thin or not fat. Buddha my post the greatest original  environmentalist. Buddha  himself while he was seeking for happiness and enlighten starved for years. He believed that the final solution was to forsaken everything, even food. He believed to become  happy and reach Nirvana by this action. He became so thin that he was almost dead, when he realized he would never achieve happiness or enlightened by starvation. Buddha had also experienced situation when he was very rich and lived in decadence  ; he lived, enjoyed with his harem and ate a life in luxury without any worries. But he did not feel complete. This Buddha symbolized one of the three stages in his life according to The Middle Way. Buddha was not really a fat man, but a regular young man who was living with his father the king in the castle. The are many Buddhas and this fat Buddha was probably Budai who lived later Liang Dynasty, 9o7-  923 CE. This Buddha symbolizes the opposite of the hungry or nihilism direction . Buddha wondered then how to become happy, without misery and as he already had tried both ways he felt lost. One day he sat by the river and touched the water he felt, as he became the river. He floated as one with the stream and did not any longer fight against it, but his hand floated with the stream naturally. The middle way He understood the vision that by eating too much or too little could not make him happy, it was only in balance he would become a happy man. With possibility to be enlightened and free from misery. We know this as the middle way. Buddha said that one must keep the mind and body fit and balance to achieve happiness. I hope people realize that the circus of modern fashion has become what bicycling was a few years ago when everyone  caught by doping. We have the same situation in the world of fashion; now it is only up to people who work in the industry to resist the temptation creating even more misery. By destroying the most beautiful girls in the world. Everyone must take action on a personal level  to make this happen.

  • Why is the Buddha Fat?
  • Emptiness – To prevent misunderstanding we must avoid the two extremes Nihilism and Existentialism. Things are not permanent and things do not exist at all
  • Existentialism – is a philosophical movement that views human existence as having a set of underlying themes and characteristics, such as anxiety, dread, freedom etc.
  • Nihilism – Philosophy. An extreme form of skepticism that denies all existence, it’s very misunderstood. As it been used as there is no point or people can do whatever they want and justify it by non-existence
